KIDS INITIATIVE Teachers Training Course

Objectives
•Provide information about KIDS INITIATIVE
•Empower with knowledge and skills to facilitate theme and project based learning programs
•Develop ICT skills
•Interact with global professionals
•Receive international standard toolkit resources
Participants
Primary and secondary school teachers, practitioners who
engage in multicultural education for children.
3-5 countries including Fiji, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines , Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, Vietnam will be connected per module.
Main lecturer
Dr.Christopher Tan
Graduate of Cornell University, University of South Australia. International expert and speaker on the use of technology in education and consultant to education ministries in US, China, Hong Kong, etc.
Languages
English. Consecutive interpretation will be available. All
handouts and reference materials are in English.
The World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) has developed a Teachers Training Course to accompany KIDS INITIATIVE, a multicultural education program for children using videoconference. The instructor plays a vital role in conducting a successful KIDS session, providing guidance to children from planning to delivery. The Training Course has been created with advice from international experts and is designed to enhance instructional skills with a focus on the effective use of videoconference.
The Training Course consists of four 3-hour modules and includes a videoconference lecture, discussion, case studies and assignments. Participants from 3-5 countries will be connected for each module, providing an opportunity for experts and instructors to exchange information across borders.
